Root Chakra Restorative Yoga rewires our muscle memory by allowing us to work deep into the fascia where we store past trauma, negative emotions, and hold onto the past. Through the practice of restorative yoga poses, we are able to release blocked energy in the body that is creating discomfort and disease. Restorative Yoga helps us to break up and release these negative energy patterns so we can be pain free.

Emotional Release

Root Chakra Restorative Yoga Poses are held for 4 – 5 minutes, working deep into the muscle fascia where we harbor our energetic blockages. During a restorative yoga session, different negative emotions that have been buried in our connective tissue are finally able to come up to the surface. Fear comes up, anger, self-righteousness, frustration, anxiety and all the other negative emotions holding us back in life. From a place of peace, we are able to release these blockages.

Root Chakra Imbalances

While the Root Chakra is vital to finding much needed balance in our hectic lives, when this energy center is out of balance, many maladies can occur. The heavy gravitational force of the root chakra can make us feel depressed and lethargic when it is out of balance. In addition, you may feel stuck, lazy or resistant to change. We are overly possessive and healthy self-confidence turns into self-centeredness. The inner strength we possess instead turns into defensiveness and we begin to build a wall around us socially.

Practice of Root Chakra Restorative Yoga

These postures should be held for a minimum of 4 – 5 minutes. If you are new to yoga, start with doing 3 poses per day. After a week, try to challenge yourself to practice at least 4 – 6 poses per day, at least 6 days per week. Consistent daily practice of Restorative Yoga is key to gaining the results you desire. Practicing “infrequently” or only “once in a while” will not be effective from a transformational healing standpoint.
